Parkside Cordless Drill battery fix
EN
Someone else with Parkside Cordless Drill issues? Well, if the answer of that quiz is YES or NO here is one case that I manage to find easy simple solution for. And hope it will be in some use to you also.
As the title speak for itself, the story behind is : battery was left to drop low and after that even on charger nothing happen.
Guided from my desires to dismantle things I open both sides: the battery and charger. And inside is like that:
For me, that charger seems kind`a simple device and I bet the problem was not there.
Part two : battery
More interesting, what you think? And here is the problem, straight in front of the eyes. Two of that cells give power to the electronic controlling the charging cycle. I measure: 3.6V - 0.5V - 1.3V - 3.6V… and so on. In other words, when you plug it on that dock station, that chip check the power level in each cell and because in that two it is so much different than the pothers, the charging state move to - forbidden.
What I have done is rather simple - just charge little that two cells to get levels almost to the rest of the pack. For that purpose, gently lift few of the contact edges and connect single cell to external charger what I have for 18650 batteries.
Let`s say after 15min they get over 3.5V. Test? Why not. With almost equal levels measured I put the battery back on charger and we have winner. Charging start, and much later on I end up with fully charged and working unit. Good luck!
