Audi 80 Car sound project
EN
Time to set some sound in one ancient vehicle produced by the Germans - Audi 80.
The project get some time and as final result can be described as.. working well
First I made 2 new ground cables that come few mm2 bigger than original ones.
Thankfully, the previous owner have done some good job of curb isolation. My job was to fit some wires. In matter of fact it went over 50 meters.
There where some “leftovers” as 10cm mids, with filters and also two 9×13” - 2 way speakers ready mounted beneath rear window.
Then come the brute force:
And here was the first kick in balls - the amps where some chinese fakes.Well, despite the notes over them my best guess was that atlest 4×60@4Ohms will not be that bad. Well, it was. So, small tips here - just find some used ones but from proved brand than to only trust numbers.
Second attempt.. went much better:
As final strokes:
- power cables 20mm2 main, 10mm2
- audio 2×0.75mm2
- Boss Chaos CX650 - 94W X 4@4ohm
- JVC KS-AX3004 - 60W x 4@4ohm
- two 2way FOCAL 9×13 - 80W@4ohm
- four 2way PIONEER 6.5” - 75W@4ohm
- two rainbow 4” - 80W@4Ohm
- rainbow filters
- subwoofer GZ 12” / 200W
- player KENWOOD KDC-6051U
it work good for now, but in case you have similar idea.. skip it. Without sound processor is pointless.
And as second tip - the player`s amp switching power cable can provide small amount power. In that matter, I add relay that cut off the power, supplied straight from one of the 10mm2 points and control it with the player
