BMW E46 - 2001 petrol - Fix : air condition control module
EN Good day.
There are plenty online sources that you can get hints for some things on E46. I will provide small info about the case I crash into.
With no more fuzz, here is what is about:
That module in question, has been removed and tested on other car where it work quite well. The opposite, when the tested car`s unit is fit in that one - again no work. If you switch ON the lights, also the module`s backlight kick on but that`s all.
The unit was removed and disassembled:
Then, the plugs checked visually
and the fuse panel (under glove box)
I follow that diagram:
and with the unit already open and board exposed, I start to measure are there any voltage or data.
On the K-line pin (B8) with oscilloscope I found that on regular interval a command float. So, presumably it is fine.
Ground (pin 13 and 14) - stable.
Fuse F28 was on place and required voltage can be measured on pin A2. But then on pin B9 there was nothing.
Again check over the fuse panel - that very same fuse was.. missing. One new, fit on spot and the unit start working.
So in case you come to the same problem, first check all that voltage/signals and then think of replacement or other measure.
