Mini 0807 Some toughts..

Because of need for dash cam, I decide to take one for me. Suspected to be already with issues fixed and better build but get lucky.. On bad way. So as many people buying it, I`ve got out of focus unit. For that purpose I have to open and fix it.
How to do that? Easy by the way.
- you peal the ring like that:
- carefully take out the position ring. !!! DO that on some paper that you can not loose the spring and small ball
- once opened, you can see the lens. They have little glue and some hole on the barrel right side. There suppose to be some screw, I guess, but mine was without. The good thing is that the lens mount is metal. So the heat and force on it will not damage it. Anyway, be really careful.
I use pliers to rotate it clock wise(looking toward the lens). And also, one HDMI cable and monitor to see what actually I`m doing. When ready, before close it I`ve made some sample video and check on my pc. Much better! Mission accomplished.
Mine is super capacitor version, so I use micro USB cable to power it. Just use your phone 5V charger and you`ll be just fine.
That is on that part. Now what I think about it.
Pros:
- for it price, deliver not so bad quality. But despite the SONY sensor, somehow it look that 1920×1080 resolution is achieved by interpolation not by sensor itself.
- can operate two SD cards
- menu is in English, easy firmware update(for that later), menu is good and smooth. Overall build quality is nice.
- have GPS (my version) and work ok.
- small size
- no battery
- fast switch time
- useful data stamps
- not bad software for showing location over the map by using the video and embed data in it
Cons:
- camera come out of focus.. Same problem as many before it..
- the supplied cable is thick and difficult to fit nice. At least from GPS to the cam side can be softer!
- GPS data is somehow not accurate. On the video itself it show less than the actual or the video embed data
- date/gps/km.. and so on stamp are with white gray color and is not visible at all on shiny part appeared in video
- still shots are useless. Really bad quality
- bitrate was low and exposure compensation not that fast. Later, I try that firmware : MINI 0807_A7_ZX_2CARD_GPS (20170310) MOD-2.2 and seems much better. (thanks to that man!) Still, there is lot more to be desired from the quality
- GPS resuming is slow. If you do not turn off the cam and keep it in somehow sleep(parking) mode perhaps will not be issue. But still, if in bright summer day it take some time to locate me,what about winter and cloudy weather?
- GPS box is.. the box. Why they do not fit it in the same window mount with sticker just make little bigger the size.
- can be used better video codec..
- the plastic film that suppose to “stick” on the windshield without any 3M tape stay one day and fall off.
If I have to compare it to my second Xiomi Mi70 - is one idea better controlling the light..and has GPS and english menu. But from other hand Xiomi cost around 30-33e with delivery and that near 79e.. And I have to pay also customs taxes..
