Toyota T22 Avensis 1998 4A-FE starter replace

Well, as title point right to the topic but anyway.. here is the story what to do:

First we need tools and to open the bonnet.. Sorry bad joke.

Yes, indeed we need tools but that aren`t that much or special.

On position 1 you see first what to remove(area) and number 2 show from where you can access the bolts and to pull/return the starter motor. In some guides you see to lift the car and so on.. Well, if you have access to car lifter in service perhaps is easy, but not required at all.

- remove the battery

- air sensor plug

- remove the top filter cover and air filter then the tree bolts are accessible (spanner 10)

- after getting all removed

- remove the top starter screw (spanner 14)

- after, from the starter back side remove the cable (spanner 12), and the small plug

- then remove the second bottom screw:

!! the marked missing bolt I took by mistake. You DO NOT have to take it !!

Once starter is removed, you can pull it from here:

Fitting the new unit is in reverse order.
